Karim Kim

Karim grew up in Korea and worked as a journalist for the Korea Broadcasting System(KBS) for 15 years, most recently covering North Korea and Kim Jong Nam’s assassination. Prior to KBS, Karim was the winner of Miss Korea Daegu 2001 and pioneered a unique pathway into journalism. She permanently moved to the U.S. in 2018, and has been continuing her career as a freelance correspondent. Besides her professional work, Karim has dedicated her personal time to the Korean American community, serving as a mentor to North Korean defectors through the Bush Presidential Center, a volunteer English teacher at the East Bay Korean-American Senior Services Center, and a member of the KACF-SF Associate Board.
