Sophia has more than 15 years of experience serving in the leadership position of non-profits. She was a board member of the Korean Art and Culture Committee at the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco for 10+ years. During her tenure, Sophia served as board chair and gala chair, helping to raise funds for the acquisition of Korean art and to elevate the department collection to a world-class standard. Sophia was the managing director of Asia America MultiTechnology Association (AAMA), a leading professional networking organization in Silicon Valley, which connects high-tech professionals in the Pacific Rim countries. While there, Sophia expanded AAMA’s offering of events and programs to increase membership base and sponsor income, and was responsible for planning and hosting AAMA’s 30th anniversary gala.
Sophia’s professional background is in finance and economics research. She was the controller of a medical group, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Associates, Palo Alto; worked as senior financial analyst at Crocker National Bank and the Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco; and was assistant economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. She earned a B.A. in economics from Smith College, and an M.B.A. in finance from the Wharton School of Business.
