The success of our mission depends on participation from people like you. Whether it’s volunteering your time or simply spreading the word, we welcome your engagement! Learn about the different ways you can volunteer below, and read about some of our amazing volunteers in Volunteer Profiles.
COMMUNITY GRANTS COMMITTEE (CGC)
KACF-SF uses a participatory grantmaking model and each year, we invite our donors and other stakeholders to participate in our grantmaking through the Community Grants Committee (CGC). Following comprehensive training, members of the CGC (volunteers with diverse personal and professional experiences) read grant proposals, visit applicant organizations, and make funding recommendations to a Board committee.
Members of the CGC have the opportunity to learn about issues affecting the Korean American community as well as apply their expertise and professional and personal experiences to helping the Foundation invest in our community.
Hana is a new initiative launching in 2019 that seeks to inspire engagement with and giving for the Bay Area Korean American community. Connect with like minded people, engage in problem-solving real issues affecting the Korean American community, and make an impact together.
If you are passionate about building community, sharing the needs of the underserved, have innovative ideas for fundraising events, and are excited about inspiring people to think of themselves as philanthropists, consider joining a Hana region.
SPECIAL EVENTS SUPPORT
KACF-SF organizes special events, including the Annual Gala in the spring, and events throughout the year. Volunteering for one of these events is a great way to network and get to know others in the community, while supporting KACF-SF’s work.
