[vc_row][vc_column width="1/3"][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width="2/3"][vc_column_text]KACF-SF held its 2nd Annual Gala on May 13th at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Hotel. More than 430 guests and volunteers gathered to celebrate pioneers and trailblazers of the Korean American community in the Bay Area. The evening was filled with inspiration, laughter, and community building. This year's Gala honored Bill and Mary Kim (Founding Chairman & CEO, Kizan International, Inc. and Founding Member, KACF-SF) for Leadership in Philanthropy; Mike and Albert Lee (Co-Founders of MyFitnessPal) as Corporate Honorees; and legendary journalist and human rights activist K.W. Lee for the Pioneer Award. Their careers, accomplishments and life stories are truly inspiring!A unique feature at this year's Gala was the contributions by four culinary trailblazers -- Korean American and Korean-inspired celebrity chefs in the Bay Area -- who offered their tasty creations during the reception. The chefs were: Danny Bowien (Mission Chinese Food), Brandon Kirksey (Foxsister), Dennis Lee (Namu Gaji), and Robin Song (Junju). We are grateful to everyone who attended and supported KACF-SF through the Gala! Due to the generosity of participants and sponsors, we raised more than $510K! Funds raised will go directly to supporting community-based organizations and other programs aimed at helping the vulnerable within the Korean American community. We extend special thanks to Gala Co-Chairs and KACF-SF Board members, John Park & Caroline Shin, for their passion and dedication to KACF-SF; our awesome team of volunteers; and program participants who helped make our 2nd Annual Gala such a success -- Mina Kim for her excellence as emcee, Susan Song for making us laugh, Joy Boatwright for her auctioneering prowess, & Emily Park of Asian Health Services for sharing her work as a grantee partner. Thanks also to KACF-SF’s Associate Board, newly formed this year, whose members organized the first Gala After Party, attended by more than 100 Gala and other guests.Photos from the Gala can be viewed HERE.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
