Yoon is an internist in private practice in Santa Clara. She grew up in Seoul, Korea, and received an M.D. from Ewha Women’s University, School of Medicine. After graduation, she moved to the U.S. and trained in Internal Medicine at San Joaquin General Hospital in Stockton, CA. Yoon and her husband, also an internist, have two teenage daughters. In her spare time, Yoon loves to travel, read books, and spend time with friends.
From having served Koreans and other ethnic groups in her medical practice, Yoon understands the unique medical and social needs of immigrants from youth through seniors. Working at KACF-SF is a natural extension of her professional work. Yoon is passionate about giving back to the Korean community and is one of the 13 original Founding Members of KACF-SF. Among her many contributions, she serves as our de facto director of Korean media relations and is our go-to translator. Yoon has also served for two years as a member of KACF-SF’s Community Grants Committee.
“When I first read about KACF in the New York Times, I wished such an organization could exist in Northern California. Within a year, I couldn’t believe I was involved with the founding of KACF-SF! For me, working with KACF-SF is a great way to bring the Korean-American community together across generations.”
