This holiday season, we would like to relay our heartfelt gratitude to you and all of our supporters who make our work possible. Your generosity enables us to continue serving our shared Korean-American community with culturally-competent mental health services, empowerment of our seniors to live happy and independent lives, legal support for low-income immigrant communities, scholarships to build the next generation of community leaders, and more.
Thank you for being part of this journey to make a real, lasting impact on the lives of those in need in our community. We hope you all get a chance to give your own deep gratitude to those who bring support and joy into your lives.
2022 Giving Summit: Philanthropy Reimagined
KACF-NY's Giving Summit in New York brought together Korean and Asian Americans from across the country—including our own staff and associate board members—to explore and celebrate giving in its many forms.
Unprecedented crises and uncertainty in the past few years have challenged but also inspired those of us who care about philanthropy to pivot and innovate new ways to make meaningful impacts. The summit celebrated and examined how the culture of giving is shifting in the Korean-American community and reimagined how we can collectively make a difference.
Our Community Grants Committeecame together in early November for a thought-provoking meeting where they shared what they learned from site visits with nonprofit organizations and made grant funding recommendations to our staff and board.
KACF-SF's participatory grantmaking with the CGC process ensures our community has a voice in our investments and helps us better align our grantmaking with the needs of our constituency. We are grateful for these amazing volunteers who donated their time, talents, and skills.
Stay tuned for the announcement of our 2022 grantee partners in December!
How Can You Help Our Community? Make a Difference for Korean Americans
This year, our work matters more than ever. The services that KACF-SF supports for Korean Americans—meals and wellness programs for isolated seniors, Korean-language therapy and legal aid, supports for domestic violence survivors—are in critical demand.
If you are interested in giving back in a meaningful and sustainable way, we invite you to become a monthly sustaining donor at just $22/month. Why $22? Because it's 2022, it's a budget friendly amount, and that extra $2 helps cover administrative fees!
The Korean American Community Foundation of San Francisco (KACF-SF) provides grants and capacity-building assistance to community-based organizations serving the needs of under-resourced Korean Americans in the greater Bay Area. Our mission is to build a vibrant, healthy, and empowered Korean American community. KACF-SF is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Your donations are tax deductible.
