Korean American Community Foundation of San Francisco (KACF-SF) was founded in 2014 by thirteen women who recognized the critical needs in the greater Bay Area and realized the potential of philanthropic giving among Korean Americans.
KACF-SF invests in solutions that build bridges to success by providing grants and building capacity to our nonprofit partners.

Major Milestones
2021
Convened the first Korean American Town Hall; distributed 7,500+ booklets and community alarms to increase community safety
2020
Launched the Bay Area K-Coalition to respond to COVID-19 efforts; Held First Virtual Gala
2019
Assembled a bilingual Census convening and distributed Census grants; inaugurated the Karen Ha Scholarship
2018
Organized Bay Area’s first Korean American Conference & Solve-a-Thon
2017
Established Associate Board of young professionals; distributed first capacity-building special projects grant
2016
Held First Annual Gala, raising more than $500,000 to support the Bay Area Korean community
2015
Incorporated as an independent 501 (c)(3) and supported 6 organizations in our first grant making year; held first fundraising event - Golf Classic
2014
Founded by 13 women as an affiliate of KACF in New York; formed inaugural Board
