Hope & Gratitude

Hope & Gratitude in Times of Crisis

To our KACF-SF Family,

At first glance, this statement may seem like an oxymoron. This year has brought unexpected challenges for all of us, and even more so for the most vulnerable in our community.

Yet, it is during these times of crises that we also have had the privilege of witnessing the strength, resilience, and hope of our community. So we wish to send a simple message of gratitude as we approach Chuseok, the autumn harvest holiday that reminds us of our Korean heritage and carries a message of hope for us all.

Thank you to our sponsors and donors who, throughout these months, have stepped up with encouragement and financial support. Your message that you’ll stand with us has truly carried us through these uncertain times and allowed us to continue our work.

Thank you to all of our volunteers who responded to our call for help. Thank you for your work in translating important documents, delivering food and care packages to our seniors, and providing free legal support and resources to small business owners and immigrant families.

And THANK YOU to our frontline nonprofit partners. We have seen your late-night emails and uneaten meals sitting by your side during Zoom calls. We have seen you pivot with compassion and determination to meet the growing needs of our community. We acknowledge your unequivocal dedication, and we thank you for your tenacity and Herculean efforts.

Together, we will continue to work for our community now and into the future. With that, we want to send out a last reminder to please be sure you, your family, and your friends are counted in the
CENSUS and be sure you are registered to VOTE!  Our voices are stronger together.

As we go into the holidays during these last few months of 2020, we thank you all for your generosity, compassion, and collaboration as we come together as 하나 (One).

Wishing you and your loved ones a safe and healthy Chuseok.
