Leadership Transition at KACF-SF

Eun-Joo led the Foundation through its public launch in October 2014, four grantmaking cycles, two galas and numerous special events with tireless dedication and good humor, always striving for excellence. She was KACF-SF’s ultimate volunteer, having donated hundreds of hours of service as executive director in the early years. Eun-Joo leaves her position in order to spend more time with family and to pursue special projects, including continuing to support KACF-SF as Senior Advisor & Consultant.“We were extremely fortunate to have Eun-Joo as our inaugural executive director and grateful for her many contributions both to KACF-SF and to the Korean American community during her tenure. She came to us with more than 25 years of nonprofit work experience as a strategic planner, leader and manager. Eun-Joo brought experience, expertise, and heart to elevate KACF-SF to be a professionally-run and dynamic organization that it is today. Her warmth and openness helped to attract volunteers and to establish strong working relationships with our grantee partners. Lina comes to us from Asian Health Services, one of KACF-SF’s grantee partners, where she has worked for the past two years in communications, marketing, and donor relations. She brings to KACF-SF a broad range of experiences and skills, both from her prior nonprofit work in the arts and education fields, as well as from her work in the private sector.“We all knew it will be very difficult to find Eun-Joo’s replacement -- a talented Korean American nonprofit professional, bi-cultural and committed to community work. Lina met all those qualifications and articulated beautifully her passion for the vision of an empowered Korean American community.
