March 16th, 2021 was a harrowing day for Asian Americans, marked by the killing of eight people, six of whom were Asian women. This tragedy brought the rising anti-Asian hate to the forefront of public attention, and for the first time, many Asian Americans took to the streets to protest and demand change.
Amidst ongoing violence against the Asian community including, the tragic deaths of Michelle Go, Christina Lee, and GuiYin Ma in 2022, as well as the recent Monterey Park and Half Moon Bay shootings, community organizers nationwide are coming together on the second anniversary of the Atlanta killings. Together we’ll honor the lives lost, acknowledge the resilience demonstrated, and recognize the invaluable contributions of Asian workers, ranging from spa employees in Atlanta to farm laborers in Half Moon Bay, who are all too often overlooked.
