March 16th, 2021 was a harrowing day for Asian Americans, marked by the massacre of eight people, six of whom were Asian women. This tragedy catapulted rising anti-Asian hate warnings into the mainstream and brought many Asian Americans, for the first time, into the streets, raising their voices and taking action. As anti-Asian hate continues unabated into 2022, community organizers across the country are uniting on the one-year anniversary of the Atlanta massacre to remember the Asian women and fight for their right to be safe, heard and empowered in this country.
