A little more about the film...
In 1905, 1,033 Koreans were sold as indentured servants to landlords in Yucatán, Mexico. While being brought across a vast ocean, one of those ships of about 300 Koreans landed in Cuba. There they faced incredible hardships but never forgot their Korean heritage and patriotism. They saved what little they had earned to support the Korean freedom fighters back in their motherland. It was under these circumstances that Jeronimo Lim Kim was born in Cuba. With a strong mind and determination, Jeronimo fought to obtain an education, eventually graduating from law school. It was there that he met his classmate Fidel Castro and joined the Cuban Revolution. He worked with Che Guevara as an intelligence operative, and became a high-ranking government official in the Castro regime. In his later life, he rediscovered his Korean roots and spent his final years reconstructing a Korean Cuban identity and community in Cuba.
