KACF-SF uses a participatory grantmaking model and each year, we invite our donors and other stakeholders to participate in our grantmaking through the Community Grants Committee (CGC). Following comprehensive training, members of the CGC (volunteers with diverse personal and professional backgrounds) read grant proposals, conduct site visits (under guidance of KACF-SF staff), and make funding recommendations to the Board. Through the CGC, the Foundation develops a cohort of educated and engaged community volunteers, activists and strategic philanthropists.
Members of the CGC have the opportunity to learn about issues affecting the Korean American community and grassroots solutions, as well as apply their expertise and professional and personal experiences to helping the Foundation invest in our community.
Read what several members of our past CGC members had to say about their experiences here.
We are now accepting applications for the 2020 Community Grants cycle! Please apply below and contact firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions.
