KACF-SF uses a participatory grantmaking model and each year, we invite our donors and other stakeholders to participate in our grantmaking through the Community Grants Committee (CGC). Following comprehensive training, members of the CGC (volunteers with diverse personal and professional experiences) read grant proposals, visit applicant organizations under the guidance of the KACF-SF Executive Director, and make funding recommendations to a Board committee. Through the CGC, the Foundation develops a cohort of educated and engaged community volunteers, activists and strategic philanthropists.
Members of the CGC have the opportunity to learn about issues affecting the Korean American community and grassroots solutions, as well as apply their expertise and professional and personal experiences to helping the Foundation invest in our community.
Read what several members of our past CGC members had to say about their experiences here.
More information about the next CGC will be available in Summer 2020. Please contact us at email@example.com if you have questions.
