A new collaboration, free legal clinics, and gala news

Stronger Together: the Bay Area K-Coalition  The newly formed Bay Area K-Coalition is a group of Korean American organizations and associations working together to leverage our collective strengths and resources on COVID-19 efforts.   In addition to KACF-SF and our Associate Board, members include Bay Area K Group (BAKG), Korean American Bar Association of Northern California (KABANC), Korean American Community Services (KACS), Korean Center, Inc. (KCI), Korean Community Center of the East Bay (KCCEB), Korean Prosecutors Association (KPA), and Simple Steps.  Together, we are responding to rising needs in our community. Already the coalition has spearheaded a number of efforts: Korean-language coronavirus resource page  Volunteer response team Virtual workshops and legal clinics on COVID-19 issues (more info below) Senior meal and care kits (check out these photos)   Fundraising to support the most vulnerable members of our Bay Area Korean American community While we recognize that is it a difficult and uncertain time, we feel excited and fortified by what we can accomplish together - now and in the future. FREE ONLINE LEGAL CLINICS Saturdays in April + May, 9-11am Do you have a legal issue stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic? Join Bay Area K-Coalition members KABANC, KCCEB, and KCI for pro bono online legal consultation clinics for the Korean Community. Lawyers will provide one-on-one virtual consultations that cover general legal issues emerging from the outbreak, including unemployment insurance, tenants' rights, and the CARES act.  Call 1-844-828-2254 to Register Learn More SAVE THE DATE!  OUR FIRST VIRTUAL GALA Saturday, May 30, 2020 Mark your calendars for a truly special evening of firsts. To raise funds for our community, we are doing what we do best in the Bay Area: pivoting and innovating. KACF-SF's fifth annual gala has turned into its FIRST-EVER virtual gala featuring some very special guests.  Help us ensure that we can continue to carry out our mission and provide critical support and resources to our nonprofit partners on the frontlines.  Look out for the invitation!   WE'RE SUPPORTING BAY AREA KOREANS DURING COVID-19.  Join Us!   Donate: 100% of your donation to Covid-19 Fund goes toward meals for seniors and critical services for small business owners and the unemployed.  Volunteer: Join more than 100 volunteers helping with bilingual translation, food deliveries to seniors, public benefits application support, and more.
