The floor to ceiling glass windows cast a warm light on the vibrant faces of our community on a beautiful San Francisco night in August. And oh, what a night! We ate, drank, danced, and raised more than $10,000 for our community at our annual summer fundraising event. Check out more pictures here thanks to Andrew Zhou!  First HANA Community and Volunteer Picnic  Our first HANA Picnic brought together more than 80 new friends to KACF-SF! Thanks to our Associate Board, we enjoyed 'talk-of-the-town' Korean BBQ and learned about volunteer opportunities in our community. The HANA Community is our volunteer and engagement group. We have many volunteer opportunities serving the Korean American community. If you are interested in volunteering with us, please reach out to Hee Won at heewonkim@kacfsf.org! Ways You Can Support You have the opportunity to be a part of funding our community.  Join the Community Grants Committee (CGC) and learn about the work of community-based organizations serving families, immigrants, and seniors. Voice your thoughts and recommend funding that will address important community issues.  If interested, contact Amy@kacfsf.org. CGC Training: Saturday, September 28, 10 am-2 pm Site Visits: Early October (weekday and weekend options) Recommendation Meeting: Saturday, November 2, 10 am-2 pm   Ring in the fall season at our 2nd Annual Oktoberfest. Enjoy craft beers, authentic German sausages, Impossible Burgers, Carbonadi vodka, and more in a beautiful backyard setting in Los Altos. Only 30 tickets remaining. We sold out last year so buy your tickets today!  Purchase Tickets Quarterly Highlights  Check out some of our fundraising and programmatic events this past quarter. A few of KACF-SF's members spoke at Silicon Valley Korean School's Career Fair. Thank you Dr. David Hong, Karim Kim, Boyoung Lee, and Jiwon Moon for sharing your professional journeys with students and opening up new possibilities! Karen Ha Scholars received professional-preparedness training and connected over lunch with volunteer mentors before heading off to college. Have a wonderful semester Julie, Victoria, and Alice (bottom row, third, fourth, and fifth from left)! The Caribbean-themed party at Kitchen Collective was a gastronomic delight with a whole roasted pig, wine from Brand and Innovatus, and Humphry Slocombe ice cream!  Thank you to all the guests for supporting our mission by purchasing Count-Me-In tickets for this event during our gala.  And a special thank you goes to our hosts, Board Member Caroline and Sean.  We joined one of our grantee partners, KASCL (Korean American Senior Citizens League), for an early Chuseok celebration on Friday, September 6th. The 1st Bay Area Chuseok Festival brought over 5,000 visitors to the Presidio. Congratulations to the volunteer organizers and Korean Center, Inc. (KCI) for your tireless work and tremendous success!
