JUSTICE FOR ASIAN WOMEN
Rally at the Asian Art Museum on March 16

March 16 marks the one year anniversary of the Atlanta spa shootings: the massacre of eight people, six of whom were Asian women and four of whom were Korean, which catapulted rising anti-Asian violence into the national dialogue.

As anti-Asian hate continues unabated into 2022, KACF-SF invites our community members to #breakthesilence and fight for the right of Asian women to be safe, heard and empowered in this country.

Please join us at the Asian Art Museum on March 16 as part of a nation-wide BREAK THE SILENCE: JUSTICE FOR ASIAN WOMEN event organized in collaboration with Stand with Asian Women, APAs vs. Hate, Asians are Strong, and the Bay Area K-Coalition. This event invites community members to fight for the right to be safe and empowered and will include performances, a community resource fair, and remarks by:

  • Shinhong Byun, president, Korean American Bar Association of Northern California

  • Olivia Cheng, actress and activist

  • Beckie Masaki, founding executive director, Asian Women's Shelter

  • Wendy Nguyen, co-founder, Stand With Asian Americans

  • Ashlyn So, youth activist and fashion designer

Artwork adapted from Amanda Phingbdohipakkiya's public art series "We Are More" made with Times Square Arts, which appeared in over 175 locations across Times Square as well as on a 35' x 125' mural along the Pulaski Skyway.

Make A Difference in Our Community
This year, our work matters more than ever. The services that KACF-SF supports for under-resourced Korean Americans - meals and wellness programs for isolated seniors, Korean-language therapy and legal aid, supports for domestic violence survivors - are in critical demand.

If you are interested in giving back in a meaningful and sustainable way, we invite you to become a monthly sustaining donor at just $22/month. Why $22? Because it's 2022, it's a budget friendly amount, and that extra $2 helps cover administrative fees!
