Giving Thanks This Holiday Season
As we enter the holiday season, we want to express our deep gratitude for you and all of our generous supporters who make our work possible. Thanks to you, under-resourced Korean Americans have been able to receive culturally competent mental health services, domestic violence support, legal assistance, and more - especially critical during this tumultuous past year.

In these next few weeks, we hope you have a chance to reflect on what you are grateful for this year. And, please don't forget to give your own heartfelt thanks to those who bring support and joy into your lives.

With appreciation,
.

How We Can Make Meaningful Change
Highlights from our 6th Annual Gala
Congresswoman Marilyn Strickland, Congressman Andy Kim, and actor and activist Daniel Dae Kim joined World Affairs CEO Philip Yun during our sixth annual gala for a deeply personal and moving discussion about their own experiences with racism and how they became advocates for social change.

Hear what these inspiring leaders have to say about their Korean heritage, building solidarity with diverse groups, and what meaningful actions each of us can do to create a brighter future for all.

Our Participatory Grantmaking Process
Thanks to our 2021 Community Grants Committee!

Our Community Grants Committee came together in early November for a lively meeting where they shared what they learned from site visits with nonprofit organizations and made grant funding recommendations to our team.

KACF-SF's participatory grantmaking with the CGC process ensures our community has a voice in our investments and helps us better align our grantmaking with the needs of our constituency. We are grateful for these amazing volunteers who donated their time, talents, and skills.

Stay tuned for the announcement of our 2022 grantee partners in December!
Congratulations to Glenn Kim
Newly Appointed Judge for Contra Costa Superior Court

Governor Newsom has appointed Glenn Kim to serve as Judge in the Contra Costa County Superior Court! Glenn joined the Bay Area K-Coalition Town Hall in July to talk about how we as a community can work together for our collective safety. He has served as a Deputy District Attorney both in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. We are proud to have such a civically minded Korean American in this leadership role.

Empower Our Community
with FREE "How to Report a Hate Crime" booklets

We've distributed over 7,000 bilingual “How to Report a Hate Crime” booklets across the Bay Area! If you would like to receive these books for your organization, church, temple, or other groups, just let us know! Empowering our community and ensuring safety has been made possible through a grant from Invest In Others and in partnership with Esther Lim.

Email amy@kacfsf.org to request booklets and alarms!
