December 2021 Newsletter View this email in your browser Congratulations to our 2022 Community Grantee Partners We are thrilled to announce our 2021-2022 Community Grants receipients. These dedicated nonprofit organizations and their hardworking staff are instrumental in ensuring that community members have access to the services that will help them thrive. Here's a snapshot of the organizations and the programs geared specifically for the under-resourced Korean American community that KACF-SF is proud to support in the coming year:  Asian American for Community Involvement: mental health counseling, education, and outreach Asian Pacific Islander Legal Outreach: assistance in the citizenship process and education around legal rights  Asian Women's Shelter: wrap-around supports for survivors of domestic violence + building community capacity to address and prevent domestic violence Korean American Community Services: staff development + continuity of social services, including senior meal program Korean Community Center of the East Bay: training of graduate-level social work students to serve the immigrant community National Alliance on Mental Illness, Santa Clara County: working with faith communities to increase awareness and dialogue around mental health issues A huge THANK YOU for all that they do!  End of Year Giving We now accept cryptos! With the ongoing pandemic and rise in anti-Asian hate crimes, this past year has been especially tumultuous for our most vulnerable community members. Consider making a year-end donation to help make a difference.  KACF-SF is excited to announce that we now accept crypto donations! Donating cryptocurrencies is one of the most tax-efficient to give, because cryptos are not subject to capital gains tax and are tax-deductible on the donor's tax returns. We are grateful to all of our supporters who step up to ensure that we can continue to provide grants to our community. Learn more about donating cryptos and the different ways you can support KACF-SF by clicking below.  WAYS TO GIVE Karen Ha Scholarship Application Now Open Due: March 22, 2022 Calling all talented high school seniors and junior college students who will be attending four-year colleges or universities in 2022! The application period for the Karen Ha Scholarship is now open.  Through this scholarship program, we provide financial assistance of up to $10,000 ($2,500 per year, up to four years) and mentorship opportunities to talented and under-resourced students attending in-state public colleges or universities as undergraduates. Do you want to make a difference in the Korean American community? Our friends at Korean Center, Inc (KCI) are hiring for three positions! Click the job titles below for more info.  Communication & Development Manager  Full-time Korean Language Instructor Program Coordinator KCI was founded in 1974 and serves the community by providing information, educational, and social services to the community - in addition to organizing the annual Bay Area Chuseok Festival.  Shop & Support KACF-SF   The Korean American Community Foundation of San Francisco (KACF-SF) provides grants and capacity-building assistance to community-based organizations serving the needs of under-resourced Korean Americans in the greater Bay Area.
